Trygve Mikkelsen, Chairman
Mr. Mikkelsen is the founder and General Partner of T+T Holdings, LLC, a private investment company focused on private equity and hedge fund investments. His other Board positions include: Diabetica Solutions Inc. and Slate Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Prior to founding T+T Holdings, Mr. Mikkelsen was a Managing Director with Citigroup (2004-2007), Deutsche Bank (1999-2002), and Credit Suisse First Boston (1987-1999). His specialty as an investment banker was M&A advisory, primarily with a focus on health care. In addition to his advisory responsibilities, Mr. Mikkelsen held several management positions including Head of US Healthcare at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was also appointed to the Investment Banking Management Committee. Prior to investment banking, Mr. Mikkelsen worked for McKinsey & Co. in Scandinavia.
Mr. Mikkelsen graduated cum laude with a BS from University of Utah, where he was an All-American skier, and received an MBA with Honors from Columbia University.
Joe Macies, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer
Joe’s achievements span Professional Services, Technology, Business Management, Sales, and Operations in Health Care, Government, and High Tech industries. He has held several senior executive roles fusing business development and strategy in consulting and corporate organizations. He was a Senior Client Partner at two international consulting firms, Accenture, (CAN, NYSE) and Unisys,(UIS, NYSE) managing the development and implementation of strategic information technology solutions to the Fortune 500 and some of the largest Federal and State Agencies. He held senior leadership roles in the health care practice of both firms.
Joe also held senior executive leadership roles in two start-up companies, Spielo Gaming International and W-Technologies. Spielo Gaming designed games and manufactured Video Lottery terminals for Casinos and point of sales terminals and related software for retail sales of tickets for National, Provincial and State lotteries. W-Technologies provided a wireless software platform and applications for the Financial Services and Insurance industries. Prior to Amkai he was responsible for the client services group at Callidus Software (CALD Nasdaq) which provides Sales Performance Management software solutions.
Joe is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and received his MBA from York University.
W. Robert Dahl, Director
Mr. Dahl is a founding member of Arrowhawk Capital Partners, an investment management firm. Previously he was a managing director of The Carlyle Group where he oversaw The Carlyle Group’s investing activities in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining The Carlyle Group, he spent 13 years with Credit Suisse First Boston, most recently as Managing Director and co-head of their U.S. Healthcare Group.
Mr. Dahl is a graduate of the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Rhodes fellow, and Middlebury College.
Ted Chin, Director
Mr. Chin is the former Chairman and Chief Strategic Officer of Ted Chin & Company, Inc., a strategic marketing/advertising company he founded in 1974 at the urging of David Ogilvy. Clients included both domestic and international companies, including several Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to founding his own company, Mr. Chin was a Vice President at B&B/Publicis.
After selling his company in 2007, Mr. Chin became a Senior Advisor to several former client companies. More recently, Mr. Chin became an Advisor to Teton Advisors, an affiliate of Gabelli&Co.
Peter Sereny, Director
Peter is the founder of Amkai. Prior to founding Amkai, Peter co-founded HealthIS, a company that delivered software solutions to the healthcare industry. Peter attended UCLA, where he attained honors in mathematics, was on the University Honor Roll, Dean’s List, and was a University Scholar. He then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Molly Sandvig, Director
Ms. Sandvig is currently Executive Vice President of Provider Relations for Employer Direct Healthcare, powered by National Surgery Network (NSN). In her current role Ms. Sandvig leads NSN’s efforts in establishing and maintaining contractual relationships with the highest quality facilities and physician providers across the country. From 2005 through 2010, Ms. Sandvig held the position of Executive Director of Physician Hospitals of America (PHA), the trade association representing the interests of physician owned hospitals across the country. An established figure on Capitol Hill, Sandvig lead PHA's political advocacy efforts and fund-raising, membership recruitment, public relations, as well as its day-to-day business and operational functions. During Molly’s tenure with PHA, the association grew over six times in size and revenue base and became a well-established trade association within the healthcare association community.
Ms. Sandvig received her Juris Doctorate with honors in 1997 from the University of South Dakota School of Law.

Aron Sereny, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Aron Sereny was awarded a Ph.D in Engineering from Columbia University. He spent the early part of his career in research at Philips Laboratories where he developed low-temperature cryogenic refrigeration for NASA Space Telescopes. He then became a founding member of Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center, MESL Laboratory in Tarrytown, New York.
Dr. Sereny is not only an engineer, but also an entrepreneur having co-founded and co-managed HealthIS, a leading healthcare software company, where he was President and CTO. Dr. Sereny has managed many large-scale software development projects, including AdvantX and AmkaiCharts. He has more than 25 years experience in HealthCare IT.
Craig Veach, Senior Vice President, Corporate Sales
Craig has a distinguished and varied thirty year career with hands-on experience in many phases of operations including Enterprise Management, Customer Service, Sales, Systems, Training and Acquisition & Mergers. Most recently, he was Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Practice Management and Ambulatory Surgery/Surgical Hospital Division of Source Medical Solutions, Inc. He managed a national sales force that was responsible for generating over 85% of the company’s annual revenue. Prior to this, Craig was Vice President, Product Management for Practice Management, Ambulatory Surgery and EMR Systems for Source Medical.
From 1993 to 2002 Craig worked in various capacities at HealthIS, a national company supplying management systems to healthcare industry specializing in the practice management and ambulatory surgery market. Prior to the acquisition of HealthIS by Source Medical, Craig was Vice President, National Sales. Craig also had several years of experience as Vice President Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Support for Information Software, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT, and as Vice President, Research & Development ADVO System, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT. Craig is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

Frank Doto, Senior Vice President, Client Services
Frank joins the AmkaiSolutions team, bringing with him over nine years of experience building client service and implementation teams within the healthcare market. Previously with HSS, Inc. (eventually purchased by Ingenix), a provider of Medicare and Medicaid perspective payment reimbursement solutions for acute care hospitals and payer organizations, Frank initially lead the client support help desk and fulfillment groups building them into a client trusted team that won best in KLAS five straight reporting periods. Later, he took over responsibilities for client account management to form solid client/vendor partnerships with a strategic purpose of forming sales references, software release early adopters, and to boost client retention. Frank also lead the technical aspects of business partner account management that worked with third party HIS vendors to develop and maintain interfaces to the perspective payment solutions, thus creating “out-of-box” integrations to over 30 HIS vendors.
Frank served his country spending eight years in the US Navy, including four years in a training command where he was a certified Master Training Specialist and received a certificate in Curriculum Development.
Rhonda Hixson, Senior Vice President, Product Management, AmkaiOffice
Rhonda and the Product Management team are responsible for the design of AmkaiOffice. Rhonda brings over 15 years of experience to Amkai having started in client services with HealthIS and advancing to the position of Director, Client Relations prior to joining Amkai in 2008.
Rhonda holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and is a certified EMT in the state of Connecticut.
Thomas Pinelli, Senior Vice President, Product Management, AmkaiCharts
Tom and his Product Management team are responsible for the design and development of AmkaiCharts, Amkai’s leading electronic medical record solution for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), Surgical Hospitals (SH), and Surgical Practices. Tom has been with Amkai since its inception, and has over 10 years of experience working with clinical users in an ASC and practice environment of all specialties. He started his career in healthcare IT at HealthIS as a member of the company’s research and development team. His special talent of working hand in hand with end users was soon discovered, and he was given the task of interacting with clinical users. Tom enjoys travelling to ASC's across the country to ensure that AmkaiCharts is the easiest and most comprehensive electronic medical record for ASC's, SHs, and their associated practices.
Tom graduated from Pace University with a degree in General Sciences with a minor in Biology and Education. Tom also holds a MS in Computer Science and Information Systems and is currently working on a degree in Heathcare Informatics.
Jason Troiano, Vice President, Client Services
Jason joins Amkai with many years of in-depth experience in most phases of software and systems development and support. He was one of the earliest employees of HealthIS, a market leader in the ASC/SH IT sector. Jason started his career in end-user training and support, and soon rose to the position of Team Leader of the company’s support group. Prior to joining Amkai, he was Manager, User Interface Development Team and Senior EMR+ Analyst for Source Medical Solution (the company that acquired HealthIS).
At HealthIS, Jason was also involved in sales, handling all regional inside sales, add-ons and upgrades, from discovery and quote preparation to post-installation satisfaction. With Jason’s broad understanding of the healthcare industry, he is well positioned to lead Amkai’s Client Service efforts.
Jason is a graduate of Iona College with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology
Chris Ford, Vice President, Implementation Services
Chris comes to AmkaiSolutions from Ingenix, a provider of revenue cycle management tools that target hospital and large payer organizations. He is a seasoned client services delivery expert, with high competencies in Project Management, Technical Delivery, Issue Analysis, Defect Replication and Customer Support. At Ingenix, Chris was a key resource in developing and instituting formal Project Delivery programs. His talents will be leveraged to operationalize our newly designed project management approach.
Peter Miskolczi – Chief Software Architect
Peter earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science in 1998 from the University of Szeged, Hungary. Prior to joining Amkai he gained extensive experience in Health Care IT working for various US software development companies. Notably, first at HealthIS and subsequently at Source Medical Solutions where he was the key architect of the back end of EMR+. This product renamed and re-released by AmkaiSolutions under the AmkaiCharts product name. Peter and his team also created AmkaiEnterprise by adding AmkaiOffice, the administrative part of AmkaiSolutions’ enterprise software offering. Software solutions architected by Peter are used by more than 150 facilities and more than 5000 daily users in surgery centers and surgical hospitals across the USA.>
