Peter Sereny, CEO & Chairman

Peter started his professional career as an electrical engineer. He later attended medical school, becoming a physician and surgeon. Peter attended UCLA, where he attained honors in mathematics, was on the University Honor Roll, Dean’s List, and was a University Scholar. He then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Peter taught and practiced internal medicine for years. He also has extensive experience in the health insurance industry, first as Associate Medical Director of the Hartford Insurance Group, and later as Chief Founding Medical Director of CIGNA Healthplan.

In 1984, Peter co-founded HealthIS, a company dedicated to developing, marketing and supporting management software for ambulatory healthcare. In 1997 Peter realized that the next wave in outpatient healthcare would be the introduction of the electronic medical record (EMR). In 1998, the design and development of EMR+® began at HealthIS. In 2002, HealthIS was sold to Source Medical, by which time it employed more than 130 people, had installations in every state, and was the market leader in the ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) and SH (Surgical Hospital) markets. In 2004 Peter founded Amkai, reacquired EMR+® from Source Medical, and re-christened it AmkaiCharts™.

Craig Veach, Senior VP – Operations

Craig has a distinguished and varied thirty year career with hands-on experience in many phases of operations including Enterprise Management, Customer Service, Sales, Systems, Training and Acquisition & Mergers. Most recently, he was Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Practice Management and Ambulatory Surgery/Surgical Hospital Division of Source Medical Solutions, Inc. He managed a national sales force that was responsible for generating over 85% of the company’s annual revenue. Prior to this, Craig was Vice President, Product Management for Practice Management, Ambulatory Surgery and EMR systems for Source Medical.

From 1993 to 2002 Craig worked in various capacities at HealthIS, a national company supplying management systems to healthcare industry specializing in the practice management and ambulatory surgery market. Prior to the acquisition of HealthIS by Source Medical, Craig was Vice President, National Sales. Craig also had several years of experience as Vice President Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Support for Information Software, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT, and as Vice President, Research & Development ADVO System, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT. Craig is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

Don Fallati, Senior VP – Marketing

Don brings over 20 years of senior operating, marketing, and planning experience in both larger and smaller companies. He was most recently Executive Vice President of Dictaphone Corporation, having served at that leading healthcare technology company for 11 years until its recent sale to Nuance Communications. As part of the senior executive leadership, he helped guide the transformation of Dictaphone from a vendor of proprietary dictation systems into a growth company powered by advanced technology solutions in speech recognition and natural language processing. During this period Dictaphone became the acknowledged leader in speech recognition to healthcare leading to its broad market adoption. Don was directly responsible for all marketing, corporate development, product management, sales support, national account and strategic planning activities of Dictaphone’s healthcare information technology businesses.

Don has served on the Board of the Foundation of Research and Education (FORE) of the American Health Information Management Association. He holds a BA from Wesleyan University, a Master’s from University of Iowa, and an MBA from New York University.

Steven Noxon, VP – Sales

Steve brings 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, client support, organization and entrepreneurship to Amkai. Before joining Amkai, he was an Account Executive for Source Medical, a software development company specializing in solutions for Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Physician Practice Management and Electronic Health Records. Steve was repeatedly one of the top performers for Source, responsible for an average of $2 million in sales per year.

Prior to this, Steve worked at QS/1 Data Systems, a software developer specializing in Pharmacy Management Software for retail pharmacies, long-term care facilities, pharmacy chains and institutions. He was first an Application Trainer and later a Sales Representative. Before joining QS/1, Steve established a successful courier service (Keating Couriers ) specializing in same-day delivery for travel agents, physicians and pharmacies. Steve has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems.

Craig Lahey, VP – Sales

Craig has a wide range of experience in all phases of outpatient healthcare IT. Following his graduation from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Business Administration, he joined HealthIS, a market leader in the ASC/SH IT sector. Craig has progressed through end-user training and support, client advocacy, and client advocate manager (managing a team of four advocates, whose primary functions were customer satisfaction and selling software and hardware upgrades) through to sales. He sold administrative software to physicians and outpatient surgical facilities throughout the eastern United States and Puerto Rico. While at HealthIS, Craig gained experience in strategic planning, advertising and promotions.

Craig has also had his share of entrepreneurship. In 2002, he founded and managed iNfuse Productions, Inc, a web design, training and support company. From 2000 to 2002, Craig was Product Manager for LifeCare, Inc, of Westport, CT, where he managed LifeCare’s website content, interactive tools and cross-integration of communities.

Jason Troiano,VP – Technical Services

Jason joins Amkai with many years of in-depth experience in most phases of software and systems development and support. He was one of the earliest employees of HealthIS, a market leader in the ASC/SH IT sector. Jason started his career in end-user training and support, and soon rose to the position of Team Leader of the company’s support group. Prior to joining Amkai, he was Manager, User Interface Development Team and Senior EMR+ Analyst for Source Medical Solution (the company that acquired HealthIS).

At HealthIS, Jason was Development Manager for the company’s primary application, AdvantX®. He was also involved in sales, handling all regional inside sales, add-ons and upgrades, from discovery and quote preparation to post-installation satisfaction. With Jason’s broad understanding of the healthcare industry, he is well positioned to lead Amkai’s UI development efforts.

Jason is a graduate of Iona College with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology

Dean Moroniti, VP – Client Services

Dean is heading the very important function of end-user services, including implementations and end-user support. He is extremely well qualified for this, having experienced all phases of client services. Dean began at HealthIS, a market leader in the ASC/SH IT sector, as an implementations/training specialist. He later became a senior training specialist, then Product Manager, and ultimately, Director, EMR+ Implementations for Source Medical (the company that acquired HealthIS).

In these roles, Dean gained solid understanding and experience in all phases of end-user support, including product management, organization and planning, troubleshooting, and training and instruction.

Dean is a graduate of Quinnipiac University with a degree in Healthcare Services Administration. Dean is also a Six Sigma Green Belt.
